GRM Networks has awarded a total of $8,000 in scholarships to six high school seniors, with two local students receiving funds.
Kinsley Allnutt of Galt and Sari Rogers of Princeton were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
Allnutt will graduate from Grundy County R-5 High School in May and plans to attend North Central Missouri College. She is the daughter of Nicholas and Brenda Allnutt.
Rogers will graduate from North Mercer R-3 High School in May and plans to attend Missouri State University. She is the daughter of Nathan and Carrie Rogers.
GRM Networks established its scholarship program in 2016 to invest in the future of the communities it serves. The program awards scholarships each year to graduating seniors in Missouri and Iowa who plan to continue their education at a college, university, trade school or other post-secondary institution.
To be eligible, applicants must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA, have a parent or legal guardian who is an active GRM Networks member in good standing and be accepted as a full-time student at an accredited institution. Scholarship funds are distributed after recipients complete their first semester and verify they have maintained the required GPA.
GRM Networks, a member-owned cooperative, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Founded in 1951 as a rural telephone provider, the company has expanded its services to include fiber broadband internet for residential and business customers.
