Trenton Schools to See Staff Changes for 2026-27 Year

The Trenton R-IX Board of Education has approved a series of staff resignations, new hires and summer school assignments as the district prepares for the 2026-27 school year.
Several resignations were accepted, with most taking effect at the end of the 2025-26 school year. Curtis Thorne will resign from district maintenance effective June 30. Other resignations include Jennifer Belvel, third-grade teacher; Amber Sprague, Trenton Middle School special education teacher; Emily McCullough, kindergarten teacher; and Kinze Hanson, Rissler paraprofessional.
The board also accepted resignations from several coaching and activity sponsor positions. Those include Greg Dalrymple, Trenton High School assistant volleyball coach; David Schockley, hi ghschool assistant softball coach; Charles Rossol, middle school head boys and girls wrestling coach; Emily Wood, TMS head volleyball coach; Sarah Allen, THS winter cheer coach; and Sarah Pauley, who is stepping down from both her role as THS junior class sponsor and THS Key Club sponsor.
At the same time, the district approved a number of new hires for the 2026-27 school year.
New coaching and sponsor assignments include Josh Rosenbaum as TMS assistant football coach, Mindy Foster as THS basketball cheer coach, Taron Loyd as THS assistant softball coach, Lucas Lewis as THS girls tennis coach, Rebecca Smith as THS National Honor Society sponsor and Rebecca Smith as Class of 2030 sponsor.
The district also has approved several support staff and classroom positions. Ashley Conwell, Krista Romesburg, Mike Stelzer and Kim Taylor were hired as paraprofessionals. Emily McCullough, whose resignation as kindergarten teacher was also accepted, was approved for a new role as a paraprofessional.
In addition, Allison Caselman and Sara Weaver were hired as kindergarten teachers, Libby Hall as a third-grade teacher, Beth Lee as a fourth-grade teacher and Julie Simpson as a sixth-grade math teacher.
For summer school 2026, Brenda Thorne was approved as administrator, Cindy Soptic as administrative assistant and Vanessa Moore and Marcene Davis as nurses. Additional summer school positions will be filled as class rosters are completed.
The board also approved all returning non-certified staff positions for the 2026-27 school year.
