Trenton Player Medals in State Tennis

Senior Isaac Dixon closed out his career with a state medal as he represented Trenton boys tennis in the state singles tournament. Dixon earned all-state honors as he finished seventh overall in singles.

A Trenton athlete made sure not to go home empty-handed in the Class 1 Individual State Championships Thursday and Friday, May 14 and 15, at Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.

Senior Isaac Dixon closed out his career with a state medal as he represented Trenton boys tennis in the state singles tournament. Dixon earned all-state honors as he finished seventh overall in singles.

Dixon fell 2-0 in the first round of the tournament to Crystal City’s Nathaniel DeClue, but he bounced back a 2-0 win over Harrisonville’s Gordon Hopson in the consolation round and then a 2-0 triumph over Bolivar’s Peyton Cole in the consolation quarterfinal.

Dixon started the second day with hard-fought, 2-1 loss to Logan-Rogersville’s Mitchell Murray. He then wrapped up the day, season and his high school career with a win over Whitfield’s John Uy to secure the state medal.
