Freedom Sound Ministry returned to the Ketcham Community Center on May 2 for its second year in a row, bringing music, testimonies and a message of faith to more than 100 people in attendance.
The outreach event featured Christian hip-hop artist Da Mac, along with personal testimonies from several individuals, including Andrea Jenkins, a student at the Baptist Student Union of North Central Missouri College. Churches from the area also were represented, giving attendees an opportunity to connect with local congregations and learn more about ministry opportunities.
Freedom Sound Ministry’s mission is to bring hope through the good news of Jesus Christ. The ministry is led by Derek and Avery McCauslin, Colby Olmstead and Scott Lynch.
Derek, president of Freedom Sound Ministry, said he received the vision in 2021 to organize a large-scale community outreach event featuring concert-level sound, worship and evangelism. Avery serves as treasurer, Olmstead as a director on the board and Lynch as secretary.
Together, the leadership team describes their work as Christ-led, team-oriented and focused on helping people encounter God and begin living through faith in Jesus Christ. They help connect people with others who can support them in their walk of faith.
