Trenton collected 13 hits Monday, Sept. 21, but could not keep pace with Lawson’s offense, falling 19-7 at home.

The Cardinals scored in every inning, including five-run outbursts in the second and sixth, and finished with 22 hits.

Trenton scored once in each of the first two innings but trailed 7-2 entering the third. Lawson extended its lead to 10-2 before the Bulldogs scored twice in the fourth. Trenton added three runs in the sixth, but Lawson maintained control and capped its scoring with three runs in the seventh.

Kimberly Clark led the Bulldogs at the plate, going 3-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases. Lucy Price finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored, while Makayla Mejia contributed two singles and an RBI.

Emma Welch doubled, drove in two runs and scored once. Betsy Price added a single, an RBI and a run, while Kenlie McCall doubled and scored. Claire Woodard, Sydney Blackburn and Layla Woodard each added a single. Lillian Ortega also drove in a run.

The Bulldogs finished with four doubles, drew three walks and left eight runners on base.

Welch started in the circle, striking out five and walking one over 2⅓ innings. She allowed eight runs on seven hits. Claire Woodard pitched the remaining 4⅔ innings, allowing 11 runs on 15 hits with four walks and one strikeout. Trenton committed three errors.

The loss dropped Trenton to 5-7. The Bulldogs traveled to South Harrison Sept. 22 and hosted Milan Sept. 24. As of press time, scores in these games were unavailable.

The Bulldogs will host the Nan Carter Tournament Saturday, Sept. 26.
