The Grundy County Health Department is offering free, confidential testing for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis C on select dates through December, with a $20 Casey’s gift card available to those tested while supplies last.

Testing will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at the health department, 1716 Lincoln St. in Trenton. Appointments are required.

Upcoming testing dates are Oct. 8 and 22, Nov. 12 and 23 and Dec. 10 and 17.

According to the health department, HIV, syphilis and hepatitis C can sometimes cause no noticeable symptoms, allowing a person to have an infection without knowing it. Testing can help people learn their status and connect with treatment if needed. Early detection and treatment can help protect individual health and reduce the spread of infection.

The gift cards are provided through grant funding supporting the testing program and will be distributed while supplies last.
