Pirates Look Good In Tune Up Ahead Of Big Region 16 Matchup

The NCMC Pirates delivered a dominant performance Wednesday night, defeating Kansas Christian College JV 101-64 on the road. The win improves the team’s record to 18-8 ahead of a big road matchup Saturday with St. Louis CC. The Pirates are currently 2-2 in Region 16 play and will look to improve their standing against the Archers.
NCMC shot an efficient 53.6 percent from the field and controlled the glass with a commanding 55-28 rebounding advantage to set the tone early and never look back.
Camden Bennett led the Pirates offensively with a game-high 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting, adding eight rebounds. Fellow starter Camden Brown posted a strong all-around effort with 14 points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block in just 20 minutes.
Grant Redd contributed 14 points and four assists, while James Porter III was nearly perfect from the floor, going 6-for-6 and finishing with 13 points and a game-high 12 rebounds to record a double-double. Deng Gak added eight points and eight boards as the Pirates dominated inside.
Off the bench, Talan Holt provided an immediate spark with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting, and Cole Johnson chipped in eight points, including a three-pointer and three free throws. Dillon Willis added six rebounds and four points in 16 minutes of action.
The Pirates knocked down 21-of-28 free throws (75 percent) and dished out 15 assists on 37 made field goals in a balanced offensive effort.
With the win, NCMC showcased its depth and efficiency on both ends of the floor, putting together one of its most complete performances of the season in a tune up for Region play Saturday.
