Trenton beats Milan at Home

Friday, Trenton played the Milan Wildcats at C.F. Russel Stadium. Trenton would win the game, bringing their record to 1-5. The final score for the game was 69-0.

The Trenton Bulldogs started on defense, kicking the ball to the Milan Wildcats, who received on the 31-yard line. Milan’s first two downs were unsuccessful, but on the third, they passed down the field and ended up on the opposite 38-yard line. On third down, Milan’s quarterback went back to pass, but Elijah Miller broke through the line and tackled him in the backfield. Now fourth and six, Milan attempted a pass to get a first down, but the ball was overthrown, leaving the receiver empty-handed.

Trenton starts their first drive on the 34-yard line, The ball is snapped back to Bradley Miller. Who turns the quarter and finds open field for a 66-yard touchdown. The bulldogs followed up with a kick from Junior Preston Whitney for an extra point. Putting points on the board 7-0.

Milan starts their drive on the far 37-yard line, The wildcats had a few short passes for a first down but then Jacob White got a tackle in the backfield for a loss of 5 yards. A stopped run and a missed pass later, Milan would punt on fourth, the kick went out of bounds on the 44-yard line, so Trenton started their drive on the 49.

First play in possession, Elijah Miller would find the edge with the help of a block from Kolt Mathews, and the endzone for a 49-yard touchdown. Preston Whitney kicked for an extra point, bringing the score to 14-0.

Milan starts their drive on the 29-yard line. The first play, the Wildcats fumbled the ball and it was recovered by Trenton. Trenton, now on the 27-yard line, is stopped on the first run, but on second down, Elijah Miller would take the ball down the field, leaping through a defender to score another touchdown, which was followed by an extra point. This brought the score to 21-0.

Milan, again on offense, begins on Trenton’s 38-yard line. After a few stopped plays, the wildcats would go for a first down on fourth, but due to a tackle in the backfield by Dru Vandevender, they were stopped.

Now on their 40-yard line, Trenton fumbles their first play on offense. They recovered the ball and followed the next play with a 9-yard run. On third and one, they handed off to Elijah Miller, who would take the ball for a 29-yard run, scoring once again for Trenton. A kick followed but was blocked by Milan, bringing the score to 27-0.

Following the kickoff, Milan would start the possession on Trenton’s 25-yard line. Going into the second quarter, the Bulldogs would stop the Wildcats in their tracks with the help of two tackles by freshman Dru Vandevender, who led the team in tackles for the week.

Trenton takes the ball at the 15-yard line and, after a few plays, would score with a handoff to Elijah Miller, who pushed through several defenders to reach the endzone. Elijah was then handed the ball again to find the edge for a two-point conversion. Making the score 35-0.

Now on defense, Trenton kept Milan from completing a first down and received the ball back on offense on the 48-yard line. On third and five, Bradley Miller handed off to Cooper Houser, who ran the ball for 10 yards, scoring the Bulldogs a first down. However, after a high snap, the Bulldogs would go to second and 22 yards to go. The bulldogs tried to convert with a handoff to Elijah, but were forced to punt on fourth.

Trenton punted to the 5-yard line, so that’s where Milan would start their drive. But the first play in a low snap would cause the wildcats to turn over the ball. Giving Trenton possession just three yards from scoring. And score they did with Cooper Houser running up the middle. A trick play for two would be stopped, with would bring Trenton’s score to 41-0

Milan would start their drive on the 45-yard line and succeeded in getting a first down. But four plays later, they would attempt a first down on fourth and six, but would be stopped by Trenton’s defense.

The third quarter, now with a running clock, would see Trenton score once more with Elijah Miller reaching the edge for a 65-yard run and an extra point to follow. This made the score 48-0. Most of the quarter was back and forth until, with 30 seconds left, freshman Jace McCall ran the ball in for another Bulldogs touchdown.

In the fourth quarter, Trenton would score two additional touchdowns, with Milan unable to score. The final score for the game was 69-0. Trenton’s next game is against Maysville at Maysville, with kickoff at 7:00.
