Union Coon Creek Baptist Church to Mark 30 Years of Sharing Thanksgiving

Submitted

Union Coon Creek Baptist Church is preparing to celebrate a special milestone: 30 years of serving Thanksgiving meals to families and friends throughout the community. What began as a simple act of love has become a cherished tradition of fellowship, service, and gratitude.

Preparations are already underway, and the church is inviting community members and friends to join in the effort. From organizing supplies to making homemade noodles, baking, and preparing turkeys, there are many opportunities to lend a hand.

Volunteer Opportunities and Key Dates:

October 11 & October 25 – Homemade noodle making, starting at 9:00 a.m.

November 8, 15, 17–21 – Workdays with prep, baking, and other tasks (9:00 a.m. start time).

November 24–26 – Turkey prep begins at 6:00 a.m. each day (lasting about three hours), with other projects starting at 9:30 a.m.

Thanksgiving Day, November 27 – The day begins at 4:00 a.m. Volunteers are welcomed throughout the morning. At 9:00 a.m., Pastor Doug will lead a time of prayer and encouragement before delivery routes begin.

On Thanksgiving morning, meals will be prepared, packaged, and delivered with joy—complete with food, smiles, prayers, and blessings. Volunteers are encouraged to bring coolers to help with deliveries.

“We could not do this without the support of our community and friends,” said organizer Dianna Crawford. “Every bit of help is greatly appreciated, and together we are blessed to share Jesus’ love in such a meaningful way.”

Union Coon Creek Baptist Church is honored to mark three decades of sharing Thanksgiving, and looks forward to another year of serving side-by-side with the community.
