Harris Begins Term as Trenton Rotary Club President

Kristi Harris has begun her term as president of the Trenton Rotary Club, taking over leadership duties for the new Rotary year.

Harris officially received the club gavel from outgoing president Daniel Gott during the club’s Thursday, July 9, meeting at the BTC Bank community room. Her term began July 1.

Carrie Lamm-Clark will serve alongside Harris as vice president and president-elect.

During her first meeting as president, Harris shared several upcoming Rotary dates with members. The District Rotary Foundation Dinner is scheduled for Nov. 6 in Kansas City, while Assistant District Gov. Chad Higdon is expected to visit the Trenton club Sept. 3.

Members also heard a thank-you note from Bright Futures Trenton recognizing the club’s support of the organization’s shoe project.

Grundy County Sheriff Rodney Herring presented the meeting program. Herring discussed the responsibilities of the sheriff’s department, staffing at the Grundy County Law Enforcement Center and changes in law enforcement during his 22 years as sheriff.

Herring said his current term will end in 2028 and that he does not plan to seek re-election.

Trenton City Prosecutor Kenton Kinney will present the program at the club’s July 16 meeting. Lamm-Clark will serve as program chairman.
