North Central Missouri College nursing students Abbie Foster and Ellie Neblock recently volunteered at the Grundy County Food Pantry, helping serve individuals and families in the local community.

The experience gave Foster and Neblock a chance to contribute to the community while also recognizing the important connection between health and access to basic resources such as nutritious food.

Hollie Hild, NCMC Nursing Instructor and Clinical Coordinator, said, “Community involvement is an important part of nursing education at North Central Missouri College. Experiences such as volunteering at the food pantry allow students to see firsthand how community resources support health and well-being beyond the traditional healthcare setting.”

Foster and Neblock represented NCMC and the nursing program through their willingness to serve, work alongside community members, and support an organization that provides an important resource to residents of Grundy County.
