Casey Scott Launches Campaign for State House Seat
Casey Scott, a rural health care professional, announced her candidacy for state representative in Missouri’s Second District.
According to her campaign, Scott has built her career around one belief: “Where a person lives should not determine whether they can get the care they need.”
Scott said her focus is on strengthening rural health care, supporting working families and ensuring communities like hers are seen, heard and supported.
Scott is a northwest Missouri native. She received an Associate of Arts degree from North Central Missouri College, completed radiologic technology training at Hillyard Technical Center and earned advanced certifications in computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. She also has pursued a role as an MRI safety officer and additional education in MRI safety.
Scott began her career working in rural hospitals across Missouri, Iowa and Kansas. In those settings, Scott said she saw gaps in the health care system, especially for patients who required specialized imaging. Scott also has held multiple leadership roles within the Missouri Society of Radiologic Technologists, including parliamentarian, secretary, exhibits chair and vice president.
While working as lead MRI technologist at Harrison County Community Hospital, Scott noted patients with complex implant conditions often were unable to receive MRI scans locally because of safety concerns and limited resources.
“For many, that meant traveling long distances, delaying care or going without needed imaging altogether,” reports her campaign.
In her current role with ScanLab and ImagingU, Scott continues to work toward advancing MRI and CT education and helping improve health care access.
Outside of her work in health care, Scott has organized local fundraising efforts, including events supporting animal shelters and other community needs.
Scott is also a mother of two daughters.
More on upcoming elections and political candidates seeking office will be published in coming editions of the Telegraph.
