Southside Farm Club held its monthly meeting April 15 in Chillicothe.

Jeanie Gibson served as hostess and asked members in advance to bring photos of their parents and immediate family. These included wedding pictures, photos of siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins as well as pictures of their children and grandchildren.

The group discussed how families seemed to gather more often in the past. Members reminisced about picnics at local parks, visits with aunts and uncles, playing with cousins and large extended-family dinners during holidays and family reunions.

They also talked about changes in clothing and hairstyles over the years and how some old styles are coming back into fashion. Several photos featured favorite toys or cars from childhood. Some members recalled their mothers sewing matching dresses or outfits for them and their siblings.

One member mentioned that old yearbooks can be found online at Classmates.com or by doing a Google search.

The next meeting will be held May 20 with Janice Belvel serving as hostess.
