Submitted
The Trenton Kiwanis Club and Trenton High School Key Club will host a Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4, at Moberly Park in Trenton.
The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. with games and activities, and the egg hunt will start promptly at 10 a.m. The hunt is open to all Grundy County residents ages 10 and younger and will be held in the upper area of the park near the enclosed shelter house.
Age divisions will include 0-3, 4-6, and 7-10. Children are asked to bring their own baskets. The park will be divided into sections for each age group to hunt for candy and other prizes.
One egg in each age division will include a grand prize certificate. Those who find the winning eggs will receive a filled Easter basket courtesy of Dave’s Body Shop.
Those attending are asked to park either in the upper lot near the enclosed shelter house or in the lower lot near the pool. Anyone using the lower lot is encouraged to walk to the upper area by way of the park road so the designated hunting area is not disturbed.
Ambulance, fire and area law enforcement personnel will have vehicles and staff at the park beginning at 9:30 a.m. Children are encouraged to explore the ambulance, fire truck and law enforcement vehicles and visit with emergency personnel. Key Club members also will provide a variety of games for children.
Parents are encouraged to bring cameras, as an Easter photo area will be set up at the shelter house.
Anyone wishing to make a donation to help offset event costs is asked to contact Kiwanis member Kara Helmandollar at 359-5966 or leave a contribution in the donation box at the event.
