A proclamation recognizing National Disability Employment Awareness Month was signed by Phillip Ray, Grundy County presiding commissioner, helping bring awareness to the importance of inclusion, accessibility and meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

“Every individual has unique abilities, talents and strengths to offer. When we create opportunities for everyone to participate in the workforce and our communities, we all benefit,” reads a release about the awareness month. “Families and Friends of the Developmentally Disabled is proud to support individuals with developmental disabilities and promote opportunities that encourage independence, inclusion, and meaningful participation in our community.”
