NCMDA Responds to Hardee’s Trenton Closure

The North Central Missouri Development Alliance (NCMDA) today announced a coordinated support effort for employees affected by the recent closure of the Hardee’s restaurant in Trenton.

The closure follows broader operational challenges within the Hardee’s franchise system, including termination of franchise agreements by the brand’s corporate leadership.(Restaurant Business Online)

While closures like this impact our community deeply, especially the employees and their families, NCMDA is committed to helping those affected transition to new opportunities. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Hardee’s team for their contributions to our local economy and community.

“We know this news is difficult for the employees whose livelihoods were tied to this business,” said Megan Pester, Executive Director of NCMDA.

“Our community succeeds when its people succeed.

That’s why we want to step in to help, to make sure every worker has access to job opportunities, support services, and the tools they need to move forward.”

NCMDA has mobilized local resources to assist displaced Hardee’s employees with:

● Connecting with area employers who are actively hiring across multiple industries in Grundy County and the surrounding region.

● Information on applying for unemployment benefits, including eligibility guidance and help

navigating the online filing process.

● Job search workshops, resume writing help, and interview preparation through partnerships with workforce development organizations and the Missouri Job Center.

“Our goal is to make sure employees are not left navigating this process alone,” said Megan Pester,

Executive Director of NCMDA. “By working alongside workforce development partners like the North Missouri Workforce Development Board, we can provide clear information, direct connections, and support that helps people move forward with confidence.”
