The Southside Farm Club met November 19, 2025, at the rural home of Jackie Altenderfer with Marcie Meservey as co-hostess. The noon meal consisted of brisket, pork, potato casserole, homemade bread and sides of vegetables, salads, fruits, and pumpkin pie. After the delicious meal, President, Jeanie Gibson, called the meeting to order. Ellen Dolan, Secretary/Treasurer, read the minutes of the last meeting and gave the treasurer’s report. The minutes were approved as read. Jacky Mack also reported on the card and flower fund.

Roll call was “What was one of your favorite homemade gifts”. Nine members and one guest, Rhonda Clark, gave a lot of varied answers, which were very interesting. During unfinished business, the club discussed the bylaw that was added last year about when to elect officers for the next year. After much discussion, the motion was made and the motion carried to repeal the bylaw that officers should be elected during the October meeting. The members also took up donations for the Community Food Pantry of Grundy County.

The election of officers for the 2026 year was held. Janice Belvel was elected President, Judith Urich, Vice-President, and Jackie Altenderfer, Secretary/Treasurer. The hostess gift was won by Jacky Mack, which included a petite scoop, note cards, gel pens and a unique handkerchief.

The program was given by Jackie Altenderfer about the Quilt Convention that was held at the Hilton Convention Center in Branson this summer. She presented a slide show of many of the unique quilts and told about many of the award winners. She also had a contest that were photos of quilts that depicted either a children’s song, a broadway musical or a Rock and Roll song. The contest was won by Rhonda Clark and she was given the same gifts as above with just a different unique handkerchief.

The December 17, 2025, meeting will be held at the home of Marie Dolan and it was mentioned that the club would be taking up a donation to the Bright Futures Food Pals for Grundy County during the meeting next month. The meeting was adjourned.
