The Oldies but Goodies Club from Eastview Manor is more than just a group, it’s a testament to decades of friendship and dedication.

Tammy Scheib started the group about eight years ago, with the name conceived by longtime Eastview employee Nancy Williams, who began working there straight out of high school in 1976.

The group consists of employees who worked together at Eastview Manor over the years and developed a friendship that has lasted to this day. The oldest member, Ida Little, is 93 years old but still goes every year for the group’s get together.

“We might be getting older, but we’re Goodies because of our friendship from years back,” Williams said. “Our friendship is golden and all because of us working together and our leadership of our administrator back then, Mildred Linhart. She ran a tight ship but loved and cared about her staff and all the residents.”

The group tries to meet at least once a year, weather permitting. Members keep coming back because of the strong bond forged from years of working together in all departments.

“We truly love each and everyone we worked with, from administration to all departments. We created a true bond,” Williams Said.

That bond has seen the club through all kinds of weather—literally. Williams spoke about a time during a bad snowstorm her friend Janey Davis picked her and Leona Kinion up in a four-wheel drive so they could stay at Eastview and help out.

For the members of the Oldies but Goodies Club, Eastview Manor isn’t just where they worked; it’s where they found lifelong friendship and a community that still endures today.
