A strong team effort on both ends of the floor powered the 13th ranked North Central Missouri College women’s basketball team to a 90-72 win over Grand View University JV on Monday night at Ketcham Community Center. North Central will look to keep their current 4-game winning streak rolling when it travels to face Des Moines Area CC on Friday in the JCCC Classic. Tipoff in Overland Park, KS is set for 7:30pm.

The Pirates (now 4-1) controlled the glass throughout the game, finishing with a 62-43 rebounding advantage and getting key contributions from across the lineup.

Sophomore Honor Mannings led the way offensively, scoring 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting while adding seven rebounds, two assists, and a block. Liz Oliver continued her consistent early-season play with 16 points and a team-high nine rebounds, while Addilyn Henke came off the bench to add 11 points, six boards, and three steals.

Sidney Aeschliman chipped in 10 points, four rebounds, and two steals, while Tailer Morrison provided a strong inside presence with eight points and eight rebounds. Lexi Burns was a spark off the bench, adding nine points and seven rebounds, and Keylie Beane filled the stat sheet with six points, four rebounds, three steals, and an assist.

The Pirates’ defensive pressure forced 18 turnovers and held Grand View JV to 31.8 percent shooting from the field. NCMC also outscored the Vikings 46-30 in the paint and 27-10 in second-chance points thanks to their dominance on the boards.
