NCMC Softball Starts Region 16 Play Off In Style

The North Central Missouri College softball team earned a pair of victories over Missouri State University–West Plains, winning 9-4 in Game 1 and 10-0 in Game 2 behind strong performances both at the plate and in the circle.

In the opener, North Central powered its way to a 9-4 win behind a strong offensive showing and a complete game from pitcher Skylar Sunderland. Ireland Bloss led the Pirates at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored while also stealing a base.

Cora Thompson added two hits, including a double, while driving in two runs and scoring twice. Kaylor Hodge collected two hits and scored once.

Alex Endicott and Katie Pierson each hit doubles, with Endicott driving in a run and scoring once. Chariss Barnard contributed an RBI single and drew two walks, and Ella Barnett also drove in a run as the Pirates finished with 12 hits.

In the circle, Sunderland pitched all seven innings, allowing four runs and nine hits to secure the victory for North Central.

The Pirates carried the momentum into Game 2, earning a 10-0 win over West Plains.

Alex Endicott led the offense with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, scoring two runs, driving in two and adding a double while also stealing two bases.

Cora Thompson provided another big swing with a home run and finished with two runs scored and an RBI. Myla Laws and Katie Pierson each recorded a hit and an RBI, while Ireland Bloss added an RBI single.

North Central finished with eight hits and stole four bases in the victory.

In the circle, Emma Lisenbee was dominant, pitching 4.2 scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and striking out seven to secure the shutout victory for NCMC.
