Lady Pirates Go 1-2 At The ICC Holiday Tournament

NCMC women’s basketball opened the ICC Holiday Tournament with an 80–67 victory over Kankakee Community College behind a balanced offensive effort and strong work on the glass.
Sidney Aeschliman led the Lady Pirates with a game-high 20 points, knocking down five three-pointers and going 5-of-8 at the free-throw line in 21 minutes. Liz Oliver posted a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds, adding six assists to anchor NCMC on both ends of the floor. Honor Mannings contributed across the stat sheet with nine points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
NCMC’s depth also played a key role. Addilyn Henke and Peyton Johnson each scored 12 points off the bench, with Johnson connecting on three triples. Laney Uchtman added seven rebounds and a block, while Lexi Burns and Tailer Morrison provided solid minutes to maintain momentum.
North Central shot 47.6 percent from three-point range and controlled the boards with a 46–41 rebounding advantage, helping the Lady Pirates pull away down the stretch and secure the win.
Illinois Central College 84, NCMC 67
In the tournament semifinals, NCMC drew #3 ranked and host Illinois Central College. The team battled throughout the contest but came up short in the upset bid.
The Lady Pirates were led by a strong effort off the bench from Lexi Burns, who poured in a team-high 18 points on an efficient 7-of-9 shooting while adding five rebounds and two steals. Addilyn Henke also provided a spark, finishing with 12 points and a three-pointer in 21 minutes of action.
In the starting lineup, Sidney Aeschliman reached double figures with 10 points and added two steals, while Liz Oliver contributed nine points, four rebounds, three assists, and a team-high four steals. Honor Mannings impacted the game in multiple areas, recording seven points, seven assists, and seven rebounds, and Tailer Morrison anchored the interior with 10 rebounds and two blocks.
As a team, NCMC outrebounded ICC 40–38 and forced 15 turnovers, showing resilience and balance across the lineup. The Lady Pirates move to the 3rd place game following the defeat.
Lake Land College 75, NCMC 67
The Lady Pirates came up short in the 3rd place game of the ICC Holiday Tournament. With the loss, NCMC holds a record of 11-7 heading into the new year.
Honor Mannings led the Lady Pirates with a double-double, posting 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds while adding three assists and three steals in 28 minutes. Tailer Morrison was highly efficient offensively, scoring 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting and pulling down five rebounds. Addilyn Henke provided a spark off the bench, finishing with 12 points, five rebounds, and two assists.
Sidney Aeschliman chipped in eight points and two blocks, while Lexi Burns was perfect at the free-throw line, going 6-for-6 to score six points off the bench. Laney Uchtman added six points and five rebounds, and Delaney Richards contributed on the glass and defensively with five rebounds and two steals.
As a team, NCMC controlled the boards with a 52–39 rebounding advantage and forced 14 turnovers, but Lake Land’s shooting efficiency proved to be the difference.
