Gold Rush, the THS vocal music department show choir, presented a musical program during the Thursday, Dec. 11 meeting of the Trenton Rotary Club, held at the BTC Bank community room. Scott Sharp presided at the meeting, Martha Goedert gave the prayer and Phil Hoffman was the sergeant at arms.

Program chairman Scott Sharp introduced THS vocal music instructor Tyler Busick, who conducted the show choir in a selection of songs recently performed at the annual Christmas Vesper Service as well as the vocal music department’s winter concert. Each of the choir members introduced themselves, telling the grade they were in and who their parents are. In addition to the musical performance, Busick told about a music composition he recently had published. “Rise,” a Latin music piece, can be listened to on YouTube. The piece was also selected by J.W. Pepper, which recommends music for high school choirs, as an editor’s choice.

During the business meeting, the club discussed its participation in the Rotary Zone “Opertion Full Plate” project, which continues through Jan. 10 and encourages clubs and their members to participate in projects related to meeting hunger needs.

There will be no noon meeting on Dec. 18 as the club will be holding its annual Christmas party. The next meeting of the club will be at noon on Thursday, Jan. 8, with members of the NCMC men’s and women’s basketball teams as guests and participating in the program.
