Women’s Shelter Shares Christmas Wish List
Submitted
As the holiday season approaches, the Green Hills Women’s Shelter is inviting the community to help make Christmas brighter for local women and children in need. Donations can be purchased from Amazon, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, or Walmart — making it easy for anyone to give a little holiday cheer.
The shelter’s wish list includes everyday essentials and comfort items such as dish towels, body towels, and 13-gallon trash cans (for packing Christmas gifts), along with trash bags, wall clocks, bathroom and kitchen rugs, and small pocket calendars.
Other needed items include stocking hats, gloves, scarves, hand sanitizers, coloring books for both children and adults, cookie sheets, pots and pans, and women’s underwear (sizes 12, 13, and larger). The shelter is also requesting first aid kits, robes (up to 3XL), an infrared heater, vacuums, dust busters, flashlights, alarm clocks, and batteries.
Gift cards are also welcomed — though the shelter asks that restaurant cards be avoided to ensure flexibility for families’ most pressing needs.
This season, even small gifts can make a world of difference for those rebuilding their lives. Anyone wishing to help can contact the Green Hills Women’s Shelter at 816-632-4900 for more information or to arrange a donation.
