Pleasant View School welcomed members of the North Central Missouri College MSTA group to help facilitate its Family Night Friday.

The event brought together students, parents and educators for an evening dedicated to learning, fun, and community engagement.

Students had a chance to participate in a variety of interactive stations throughout the night. Among the highlights was a hands-on STEM activity where students built boats out of craft supplies, testing their engineering skills and creativity. Other stations featured opportunities for students to practice sight words, enhancing their reading abilities, and rolling dice to explore the concept of probability, among many other activites.

Older students enjoyed the challenge of a breakout room, designed to strengthen their critical thinking and teamwork skills. The evening also included food and prizes available for both kids and parents, adding to the sense of celebration.

A special treat for many of the young attendees was meeting the college’s pirate mascot, who made an appearance during the night. The event showcased how community partnerships can create educational experiences for local families.
