CHULA, Mo. — The streets of Chula will come alive this Sat., Sept. 20, 2025, as the community gathers for the annual Chula Street Fair. Packed with contests, games, food, and small-town fun, the day promises something for every age.
Events kick off early with biscuits and gravy served by the Chula Fire Department at 7 a.m., followed by the Chula School Fun Run at 8 a.m. At 9 a.m., the popular Ag Contest begins, with prizes for the best soybean plant, best three ears of corn, tallest horseweed, and other categories. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners, thanks to sponsor Kerri Brenner.
The morning also features a baby show at 10 a.m. and the parade at 11 a.m., this year carrying the theme “Small Town Magic.” The parade will be led by Grand Marshal the Louise Graves family.
Throughout the afternoon, families can enjoy street games, inflatables, a pedal pull in memory of Bob Smith, carnival games, and an ice cream social at the community church. A cooking contest featuring pies, breads, jellies/jams, and salsa will be judged at 4:30 p.m. There will also be a photo booth, food vendors, and a variety of activities for kids.
Evening highlights include live entertainment from Shakey Ground Band, raffle drawings, and the announcement of Little Miss and Little Master Chula winners. The day wraps up with a street dance at 9 p.m. and the traditional Zingo game, which continues into the night.
Organizers extended thanks to S & B Hauling and Construction, LLC for serving as a Diamond Level sponsor, contributing $500 in seed money for the 50/50 drawing and donating rock for the silent auction.
The Chula Street Fair is free to attend, with small fees for select games and contests. Silent auctions will run throughout the day, and food stands will be open to keep visitors fueled as they enjoy the festivities.
