Ally Miller won the state championship in the girls event at 105 pounds and the Trenton Kids Wrestling Club earned a total of three state medals from the Missouri USA Wrestling Boys and Girls 2026 State Folkstyle Championships, March 13-15 at Wilson Logistics Arena in Springfield.

Miller won the state championship in the 14U, 105-pound bracket. She opened the tournament with a fall over Dowler of Southern Boone, then followed with another win by fall against Hodde of Ellerman Elite Wrestling.

In the championship match, Miller trailed 4-3 late in the third period before scoring a reversal with just four seconds remaining to defeat Lynkin Carter of Honey Badger Wrestling and claim the title.

The boys tournament was Friday and Saturday and featured 1,721 wrestlers from Missouri USA clubs, an increase of more than 300 entries from the 2025 event.

Trenton qualified 14 wrestlers for the state tournament and Noah Boyd earn a third-place finish in the 14U, 235-pound bracket.

Boyd secured his medal by pinning Wyatt Yadon of Team North Stars. The tournament marked Boyd’s first year in wrestling. After competing during the middle school season, he continued into Missouri USA competition and found success at the state level.

The girls tournament was held Sunday and included 812 wrestlers from Missouri USA clubs across the state. Girls wrestling in Missouri has continued to grow, with Missouri USA Wrestling reporting an increase of more than 290 entries from last year’s state tournament.

Braylee Barron earned a fourth-place medal after opening the tournament with a 9-0 decision in her first match. She then dropped a hard-fought bout in the closing seconds, sending her to the consolation side of the bracket, where she continued her strong performance to place fourth.

Trenton finished the weekend with one state champion and two additional medalists, highlighting a strong showing against some of the top youth wrestlers in Missouri.
