Trenton FFA members were recognized for their achievements during the recent Area 2 Proficiency Selection night, where students were evaluated based on the strength of their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects and overall involvement in FFA activities.

Several Trenton students earned top honors, including two members who qualified to advance to state competition.

Jackson Bethards received first place and state qualifier honors in Swine Production–Entrepreneurship. Titus Kottwitz also earned first place and state qualifier recognition in Vegetable Production.

Additional top finishers included Henry Link, who placed second in Ag Sales–Placement, and Justin Dixon, who earned second place in Goat Production. Kimberly Clark and Lucy Price each captured third-place finishes in Diversified Crop Production–Entrepreneurship and Poultry Production, respectively.

Area participants representing Trenton FFA were Logan Roberts (Ag Services), Catelin Bowe (Beef Production–Entrepreneurship), Matthew Kralicek (Beef Production–Placement), Kale Batson (Diversified Ag Production), Caleb Ray (Diversified Crop Production–Placement) and Camden Skipper (Turf and Landscape Maintenance).

The proficiency awards program recognizes FFA members who have developed specialized skills through hands-on agricultural projects. Students are judged on record keeping, scope of their projects and demonstrated leadership within agricultural education.

Trenton FFA members will now look ahead to the state level, where Bethards and Kottwitz will represent the chapter in their respective proficiency areas.
