North Central Missouri College athletics is pleased to welcome Tara Sanchez. She will be the department’s Assistant Athletic Trainer and is excited to work with a great group of Pirate athletes.

Sanchez joins NCMC after serving at Highland Community College, where she most recently returned as an Athletic Trainer following two years as the Scholarship Sponsor and Pre-Athletic Training Education Supervisor. In that role, she provided comprehensive sports medicine care while also supporting student education and professional development.

From 2022–24, Sanchez served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Texas Christian University, where she was the primary athletic trainer for the women’s basketball program and rifle team. She previously worked at Highland Community College from 2020–22 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, serving as the lead athletic trainer for baseball and track and field while supporting multiple additional sports. During that time, she also served as an Instructor of Health Science, teaching athletic training–related coursework.

Sanchez began her professional career as the first Head Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach at Cottey College during the 2019–20 academic year.

A native of Newton, Missouri, Sanchez earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Central Methodist University and her master’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sports conditioning from A.T. Still University. She holds multiple state licensures and professional certifications.

NCMC Athletic Director Nate Gamet expressed his enthusiasm for the addition.

“We are very excited to add Tara Sanchez to our athletic training staff,” Gamet said. “She brings a great deal of knowledge and experience with her, which will only help create a better environment for our student-athletes. Her passion and excitement for the student-athlete will only help to improve the quality of care our athletic training staff can offer.”

Sanchez’s arrival continues NCMC Athletics’ commitment to providing exceptional care, support, and resources for its student-athletes across all programs.
