The Antique Study Club of Grundy County convened on Friday, November 21, at the home of Robin Wilson, with Angie Tye serving as co-hostess. Fourteen members attended the gathering, which featured a special program led by Rochelle Woodard on the vintage book “The Torch is Passed.”
Woodard, who recalls her childhood fascination with the book, shared personal memories of first encountering it as a five-year-old in the aftermath of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in 1963. Though unable to read at the time, she was captivated by the book’s photographs, which have served as a lasting tribute to Kennedy’s legacy for her and many others.
The club announced that its next meeting will take place on December 12 at the home of Pam McDonald at 11:30 a.m. Bev Croy is scheduled to present a program on Christmas stockings.
