Shelby Gibson from Gilman City, MO, has been selected as North Central Missouri College’s Outstanding Student for October. Shelby, a Missouri A scholarship student, is pursuing a degree in Radiologic Technology and plans to graduate in May of 2027. After graduating from NCMC, Shelby plans to pursue a career as a Radiologic Technologist. While she hopes to stay close to home, she’s open to exploring opportunities at larger hospitals beyond her local area.
At NCMC, Shelby is a student worker at the Alexander Hall Front Desk. Shelby also enjoys being with her family and reading. Shelby said, “What I love most about NCMC is its close-knit community. I knew a large college wouldn’t be the right fit for me, and here, the small campus atmosphere makes it easy to connect with others and build lasting friendships.” Shelby’s favorite class is National Government with Dr. Sterling Recker. Shelby said, “I really enjoy the class and Dr. Recker is a good instructor.”
“I chose NCMC because it’s affordable, I could use my A scholarship, and I really appreciate the small class sizes,” Shelby said,” I like that I can connect with my instructors, and being close to home makes it even better.”
