Angela Heins Named College’s Outstanding Employee For June

Angela Heins, TRIO Student Support Services assistant director at North Central Missouri College, has been named NCMC’s June Outstanding Employee.
North Central Missouri College has recognized Angela Heins, TRIO Student Support Services assistant director, as its June Outstanding Employee.
Heins, of Trenton, has worked at NCMC for seven years. Originally from Carrollton, she holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education.
When asked to describe her role, Heins said, “Fun. Rewarding. Unpredictable.”
Heins said her favorite part of NCMC is the campus community.
“I love that all the NCMC staff are willing to go the extra mile to help students succeed,” Heins said.
During her time at NCMC, Heins has helped expand student engagement through TRIO SSS programming and workshops designed to meet students where they are. Those efforts include Career and Coffee chats, First Gen Club and the reintroduction of etiquette dinners as Hungry for Success Dinners. The programs are designed to allow students to build on the knowledge they already have without needing advance preparation.
Looking ahead, Heins said she would like to continue expanding First Gen Club and hopes to see TRIO secure another grant for the Savannah campus.
Each month, NCMC faculty and staff nominate employees who demonstrate hard work, dedication and a commitment to making NCMC an exceptional place to work.
