Cops N’ Bobbers Hosts 72 Children For Day of Fishing Fun

TRENTON — Trenton Police Department hosted 72 local children at the 14th Annual Cops N’ Bobbers fishing event on Saturday, June 6.

“Many fish were caught as area kids spent the morning fishing with the law enforcement officers and first responders. The Shortgrass Chapter of Quail Forever also provided several other outdoor activities for the youth to participate in when they were done fishing,” reads a release from Police Chief Rex Ross.

After fishing with equipment provided by the Missouri Department of Conservation at the North Central Missouri College – Barton Farm Campus Pond, the youth were served lunch by Quail Forever.

Following the giving away of door prizes to all the youth, the grand prize of a Missouri Lifetime Fishing Permit was awarded to a lucky 6-year-old.

“The Trenton Police Department would like to thank all the people and businesses that helped make this event a success with special recognition to our community partners and those who provided prizes for each of the kids that registered for the event,” wrote the chief.
