Madelyn Glidewell Selected For National Youth Leadership Forum

Madelyn Glidewell, a student at Laredo R-7 School, will join students from across the country this summer for the National Youth Leadership Forum: Pathways to STEM at Washington University in St. Louis.

Glidewell, of Trenton, is the daughter of Riley and Shelby Glidewell. She was nominated for the program by her favorite teacher, Mrs. Lynch, in recognition of her maturity, determination, work ethic and strong character.

The program is part of the Envision by WorldStrides family of programs, which offers students opportunities to explore academic interests and career fields through learning experiences outside the classroom.

Madelyn, who enjoys reading, math and exploring new and challenging subjects, will spend a week as a resident on campus. During the program, she will meet students from across the country and take part in studies related to medicine, engineering and crime scene investigation.

“I am excited for Mady to meet, work and collaborate with fellow high-aspiring students from other cities and schools,” said Jan Sikorsky, vice president of education for Envision.

“NYLF: Pathways to STEM is a wonderful opportunity for ambitious young students to explore their interests outside the classroom and discover how to innovate and think creatively through hands-on immersive learning,” Sikorsky said. “Our students are challenged with real-world simulations and problems, working together to develop unique solutions and projects to bring life to their studies and career interests.”

For more than 40 years, Envision by WorldStrides has offered programs designed to help students discover their passions, explore careers and positively impact their world. Envision became part of the WorldStrides family in 2018. WorldStrides is a provider of educational travel and experiences in the United States, working with more than 50,000 educators each year to help more than 550,000 students take part in learning opportunities.
