The Grundy County Veterans Association has purchased the former Republican-Times building. The site will replace the existing VFW and American Legion post buildings, while the designations of VFW Post 919 and American Legion Post 31 will remain the same.

The building will be named the Grundy County Veterans Association and is the result of combined efforts by the American Legion, VFW and all veterans who have served honorably in the United States Armed Forces.

The association thanks everyone who helped make the purchase possible through donations, fundraisers, grants and other activities.

The building also will be available for use by the civic groups and the community.

The building is currently undergoing renovation, with completion hoped for within the next six months. The Grundy County Veterans Association is a nonprofit organization.
