The Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce joined representatives from Church Women United Thrift Shop this week for a ribbon-cutting and groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the facility’s upcoming building expansion at 1705 Harris Ave.
“The project will add valuable retail, storage, recycling and volunteer processing space while improving ADA accessibility for shoppers and volunteers,” reads a release from chamber Executive Director Kayla Graham.
The expansion will aid Church Women United in its efforts to make a lasting impact by providing affordable essentials to the community and supporting local organizations, schools, students and individuals with special needs through proceeds from the thrift shop.
“Thank you to everyone who attended and to the dedicated volunteers helping make this exciting project possible for Grundy County and surrounding communities,” said Graham via the release.
The community can further support the group’s mission via monetary donations, which can be mailed to 1705 Harris Ave. If honoring a person, please list the person’s name in the memo line of the check.
