The Trenton Varsity Bulldogs powered their way to a 14-8 win over South Harrison on Monday evening, using a pair of home runs and a big offensive night to secure the victory.

Trenton finished with 14 runs on 12 hits, overcoming an early deficit with a strong response at the plate.

After trailing 4-1 in the opening inning, the Bulldogs quickly swung the momentum back in their favor by scoring four runs in the second inning. They broke the game open in the fourth with five more runs and continued to add on from there.

A major highlight for Trenton was the long ball. Camden Skipper and Graeme Sager each blasted home runs for the Bulldogs, helping fuel the offense in a game where Trenton consistently applied pressure.

Skipper turned in one of the top performances of the night, going 3-for-3 with five RBIs, two runs scored and a double in addition to his home run.

Sager had a strong showing, finishing 2-for-4 with four runs scored, one RBI and a home run. Ayden Ortega added another strong effort, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Cayden Farmer contributed two hits and two RBIs, while Caleb Dixon added an RBI and Jacob White scored three runs.

Trenton scored in five of its seven offensive innings, putting together a balanced attack that included one run in the first, four in the second, five in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the sixth.

On the mound, Trenton used two pitchers in the win. Elijah Miller started and struck out four in two innings of work. Kaydan Foster earned the victory in relief, pitching five innings and allowing just one earned run while striking out five.

Trenton also overcame four defensive errors by continuing to answer offensively and keeping control of the game. The Bulldogs showed plenty of firepower at the plate, and the two home runs helped lead the way in a high-scoring win.

With the victory, Trenton improved to 7-4 on the season. The Bulldogs are scheduled to play Thursday, April 16 at Milan and return home Friday, April 17 to face Lawson.
