The Grand River Garden Club met Monday, March 23, for lunch at Great Western Food on the North Central Missouri College campus before taking a tour of the Thompson House.

During the visit, Martha and James Goedert shared historical information about Grundy County’s first settlers, along with details about Dr. Thompson’s house and the nearby cemetery.

The tour gave members a chance to learn more about an important part of local history while enjoying time together as a club. Members also expressed interest in helping with future plantings to support landscaping around the home in a way that reflects its 1800s-era character.
