North Central Missouri College has recognized Landry Oaks, admissions recruiter, as its Outstanding Employee for March.
A native of Newtown whose hometown is Trenton, Oaks is an NCMC alumna who earned an associate of science degree and is currently working toward a bachelor of science in communication. She has been a member of the NCMC team for eight months.
When asked to describe her role, Oaks said it is “welcoming, supportive, impactful.”
She said her favorite thing about NCMC is “the people and genuine sense of community here. From faculty and staff to students. Being an alum makes it even more meaningful because I know firsthand how supportive and life-changing this environment can be.”
During her time at NCMC, Oaks has focused on making the admissions process feel welcoming and easy to navigate. From campus visits to follow-up communication, she works to help students feel comfortable, supported and excited about beginning their journey at NCMC.
In the future, Oaks said she would like to continue building strong connections with students and help increase enrollment by showing prospective students the opportunities available at NCMC. Long term, she said she hopes to grow within the institution and continue making a positive impact on student experiences.
Outside of work, Oaks enjoys spending time with friends, playing cards, working on homework and trying new recipes. She also enjoys new experiences, visiting new places, music and concerts.
Each month, NCMC faculty and staff nominate employees who demonstrate hard work and dedication and who help make the college an exceptional place to work.
