The Grundy County Commission has officially recognized March as National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month by signing a proclamation in support of individuals with developmental disabilities and the organizations that serve them. This proclamation highlights the importance of inclusion, opportunity, and respect for all members of our community. It also recognizes the valuable contributions individuals with developmental disabilities make every day in our schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods.
We appreciate the Grundy County Commission for taking the step to raise awareness and show their support for building a community where everyone belongs and everyone has an opportunity to thrive.
During the month of March, we encourage everyone to take time to learn more, advocate for inclusion, and celebrate the abilities and accomplishments of individuals with developmental disabilities.
