Meet the Candidates for School Board Event Planned
Submitted
The Trenton R-9 School District will host a Meet the Candidates Night later this month, offering community members an opportunity to hear directly from individuals seeking seats on the school board.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Graham McVay Memorial Commons.
The evening will give school board candidates a chance to introduce themselves to Trenton R-9 staff and community members, share background information and explain why they are seeking a position on the board. Candidates will also discuss their goals and hopes if elected to serve a term on the board.
Four candidates have filed for the three available three-year terms on the Trenton R-9 Board of Education. Those candidates are Ronda Lickteig, Brandon Gibler, Travis Pagel and Zachary D. Plumb.
Each candidate will be given a few minutes to speak during the program. Following the introductions, attendees will have the opportunity to visit informally with the candidates during a time of light refreshments and conversation.
The event will allow community members to ask questions and learn more about the individuals seeking to help guide the district in the coming years.
The meet-and-greet format is designed to encourage open conversation between candidates, school staff and residents before the upcoming school board election.
