Lady Pirates Cruise To Victory To Start Region 16 Play

The NCMC women’s basketball team delivered a dominant all-around performance, rolling to an 88–43 victory over Metropolitan Community College on Wednesday to open Region 16 play. The team is now 13-7 overall with their next matchup being a road tilt with Jefferson College on Saturday.
The Lady Pirates controlled the game from the opening tip, using efficient scoring and a strong presence on the glass to build separation early. Tailer Morrison led the way with a near-perfect shooting night, going 5-of-5 from the field and 6-of-6 at the free throw line to finish with a game-high 16 points and nine rebounds. Honor Mannings added 15 points, three assists, and two blocks, while Sidney Aeschliman knocked down three three-pointers on her way to 12 points.
NCMC showcased its depth as well, with four players coming off the bench to score at least eight points. Lexi Burns and Laney Uchtman each contributed nine points, while Addilyn Henke chipped in eight points and seven rebounds. Overall, NCMC held a commanding 59–36 rebounding advantage and forced 27 turnovers, turning defense into consistent offense.
North Central shot 75 percent from the free-throw line and finished with 18 steals and eight blocks, underscoring a complete team effort as the Lady Pirates continue to build momentum moving forward.
