Sunnyview Nursing Home and Apartments Foundation convened its latest board meeting on December 9, 2025, at the Clevenger Tax office. The session was called to order by Secretary Vickie Bowe, with board members Sarah Maloney, Randy Hammett, Vicki Ferguson, and Bowe in attendance.

The meeting began with a review and unanimous approval of the September minutes. In the absence of Treasurer Marjorie Keuhn, Sarah Maloney presented the financial report. The Foundation’s Scholarship CD stood at $28,807.51 and General Funds at $100,000. The quarter’s income was reported as $2,871.74 against expenses of $15,129, resulting in a checking account balance of $13,124.11, which was also unanimously accepted.

Under old business, Vickie Bowe announced the approval of Randy Hammett’s nomination to the Foundation Board, filling the vacancy left by Phyllis Jackson’s resignation. The board also voted to update the bank account signatories, removing Jackson’s name and adding Sarah Maloney.

Due to unavailable audit information, the audit discussion was tabled for a future meeting.

During new business, the board reorganized its leadership following the resignation of two officers. Sarah Maloney was elected President, and Randy Hammett Vice President, both by unanimous vote. The group also recognized staff achievement, naming Penny Buswell as Employee of the Quarter.

Facilities improvements were discussed, including the proposal of ceiling fans with lights for both verandas, which requires further investigation regarding wiring. A plate warmer for the dietary department was favorably received, and the board approved the purchase of an Admiral Craft LR-2 17 Heated Plate Mobile with an enclosed cabinet and a three-year protection plan.

The next Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for December 16 at 4:00 p.m. in the Director’s Office of the Nursing Home. The Foundation’s next meeting will be held on March 10, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., with the location to be determined.

The meeting adjourned following a motion by Vickie Bowe, seconded by Randy Hammett.
