Ashlen Busick, representing the community garden, spoke briefly to members of the Grand River Garden Club Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, when members met at El Toro restaurant for their Christmas gathering.

Mrs. Busick has started a non-profit organization called Grow for Grundy. She asked for club volunteers to help her co-host a winter garden party/social for the planning of next year’s garden. “This would be for planning, resources individuals use, possibly a seed swap,” she said. “I want to get people together who want to start gardening.” Samatha Lamp, Laura Ewing and Ginny Johns volunteered to help Mrs. Busick plan such a meeting to be held in January. More information will be available on the website, growforgrundy.org., Mrs. Busick reiterated.

Club members held a white elephant gift exchange. Those attending were Carolyn Rasmussen, Marilyn Bain, Linda Lamp, Marilyn Booth, Diana Hoppe, Dorothy Taul, Linda Carman, Ginny Johns, Connie Metzgar, Laura Ewing, Bonnie Dittberner, Nancy Donohue, Doris Provorse, Nancy George and Karalyn Thompson and guest, Samantha Lamp.

The next meeting will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Feb. 16, 2026, at noon. Members will paint rocks to sell at the April plant sale at Leisure Lake.
