In celebration of Veterans Day, North Central Missouri College proudly recognizes Gage Dotson, an outstanding student and U.S. Army veteran. Originally from Elwood, Kansas, Gage attends classes at NCMC’s Savannah Campus, where he is pursuing an Associate in Applied Science degree in Industrial Technology. He is set to graduate this December and plans to apply his education to advance in his current role at Insteel Industries Inc.

North Central Missouri College is committed to supporting our military students. NCMC works with them to ensure they receive the maximum education benefits and guides them through the process of certifying hours with the VA. Just as with every student, NCMC is dedicated to ensuring our military students receive an affordable, accessible, and high-quality education.

“At North Central Missouri College, we are deeply honored to serve our military and veteran students with the same dedication and commitment they have shown in serving our country,” said Dr. Lenny Klaver, NCMC President. “Their unwavering courage and determination to pursue their education inspires us all.”

When asked why he chose NCMC, Gage said, “I toured a few colleges, but I really liked what NCMC offered, especially after talking with Instructor Rick Sharp. The Industrial Tech program here felt more in-depth and hands-on.”

Gage’s favorite class is Motor Controls with Instructor Rick Sharp. Gage said, “The class was a lot of information, but we got to do so much hands-on learning. It was a lot of fun to learn it all.”

Gage said, “My favorite thing about NCMC is the practicality of the classes. It hasn’t been all bookwork or sitting through slides all day. It’s aimed for what you will actually be doing on the job instead of just getting a degree.”

Outside of school and work, Gage enjoys reading and working on projects around the house.
