Get ready to indulge your creative spirit and sweet tooth as ART’S ALIVE announces its third Annual Holiday Gingerbread Contest, set to take place during Trenton’s Downtown Christmas Festivities, sponsored by Trenton Five Points Alive, on Friday, December 5, 2025.

The event promises something for everyone, with categories open to participants ranging from preschoolers to professionals. Prizes of $50 for first place and $25 for second place will be awarded in each group, with the highly coveted People’s Choice Award, also worth $50, determined by visitor ballots. Winners will be revealed during the closing ceremonies, adding extra excitement to the holiday celebrations.

In the true spirit of the season, the contest is entirely free to enter and attend. The only rule? Have fun! All gingerbread creations must be 100% edible (with non-edible decorations limited to the base), use royal icing, and be presented on a sturdy 18” x 18” board. Judging will be based on creativity, neatness, and originality, ensuring that every entry gets a fair shot at the top prizes.

Entries must be delivered to “The Space” on Thursday, December 4, between 5 and 7 p.m., with closed judging to follow. The public is invited to view the entries at “The Space” starting at noon on Friday, December 5. All creations should be picked up between 10 and noon on Saturday, December 6.
