Trenton Chamber Awards 44 Grants to Local Educators
The Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the success of its 2026 Teacher Grant Program after awarding 44 classroom grants to educators at Trenton R-9 School District and Trenton Head Start.
The program was created to provide teachers with additional classroom resources while also recognizing the work educators do throughout the community. Local businesses, organizations and individuals sponsored $50 classroom grants, which were presented during the 2026 teacher convocation at the beginning of the school year.
According to the chamber, the grants can be used by teachers to purchase books, art supplies, science materials and other classroom resources that support student learning.
The chamber notes the program was also intended to show local educators that the community appreciates their efforts and recognizes that teachers sometimes spend their own money to provide needed classroom materials.
Following the success of the inaugural program, the chamber plans to continue the Teacher Grant Program next year and hopes to expand the initiative to provide additional support for area educators.
