Through the generosity of the community, Bright Futures Trenton can provide the resources to help our children succeed.
Food Pals: Fighting Hunger, Fueling Learning
Bright Futures Trenton recently launched their monthly Food Pals distributions, serving approximately 130 students throughout the school year. This vital program helps combat food insecurity among local children and youth, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals even when school is not in session. With an annual operating cost of $30,000, Bright Futures relies on donations and volunteers to sustain this initiative.

Lunch Buddies: Mentorship That Matters
Our Lunch Buddies program pairs elementary students with caring adult mentors who meet with their “buddy” at least twice a month. These relationships provide encouragement, stability, and a positive role model during the school day.

Real Impact: A Testimony from THS
“At THS, there are sometimes costs associated with programs and activities. One of the things I love about Bright Futures is that it takes care of that barrier for students,” shared Taylor Ormsby, THS Counselor and Bright Futures Advisory Board member. “We had a student who couldn’t afford work boots for their Grand River Technical School course. Bright Futures stepped in, and that student graduated with an Automotive Technician certification. This year alone, Bright Futures has helped students access sports equipment, FFA uniforms, and work clothes; opportunities they wouldn’t have had otherwise.”
